Tuesday, November 10, 2015

Today room 17 learned about Onomatopoeia. We are learning to use descriptive language to make our writing more interesting. We talked about our Guy Fawkes experiences, and then watched a video about fireworks. We watched, and we also listened for the sounds. We wrote down the 'words' we could hear, and then we each created our own word cloud with the words we heard using Here is a slideshow of some of our work.

Investigating Fungi

We are learning to investigate and identify fungi. Today we started reading "Investigating Fungi" by Gwen Pascoe. We discussed what fungi are, and what type of fungi we have seen and where. We then went exploring around the school to try and locate some. When we found some (there were not many) we drew a diagram in our books then came back to class to identify them.

3 weeks later and we have some new fungi growth in  our terrarium!
